“When I was little, I painted rocks like lady bugs for all my friends at Christmas. I never saw them again. But after my best friend died 16 years later I walked into her bedroom and across her desk were my lady bug rocks. On the anniversary of her death I wanted to donate blood in her honor but having lived in the UK in the 80’s I wasn’t allowed. I thought a lady bug tat was the next best thing. Her life moto was “deal with it,” and now when I have any kind of problem I look at my arm and remember “just deal with it.” - @foulmouthgirl
“I saw the quote when I was studying in London. It was inscribed on a ring at a shop at Shakespeare’s birthplace that was found at the Rose theatre in 1987 but the ring itself dates from the 14th century. It’s old French and translates to “Think of me, god willing”. Actually “DV” directly translates to “if god wants”. How terribly romantic! I couldn’t stop writing it on myself so eventually I just made the ink permanent.
